The Forensic Link Adapter calculates a cryptographic hash values for each file in the data archive at the time of the data extraction. Hash values are calculated using a 256 bit Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-256) which generates a unique value based on the contents of the file. The FLA Portal Server recalculates the hash and automatically compares it to the original hash value. When these hash files match, the file on the server is verified to be identical to the original data file and no data has been altered.
